Take that, whippersnapper

Finally, after driving hundreds of miles, Gramps woke up, turned off his blinker and picked up speed…. Translation, McCain called for off shore drilling.

If Gramps wants to separate from Scooter, he needs to keep the foot to the floor on this issue. The old man is starting to talk common sense. I heard him say he wanted to investigate the way Brazil uses sugarcane to produce ethanol… but wait there’s more. He’s also for turning coal into fuel. Someone musta put Geritol in his Fiber One, because he finally gets what everybody else with common sense has been screaming.

Why this wasn’t campaign issue number one, I’ll never know. Well, I guess I do if you look at the two guys leading their parties. Think about this.

Scooter, no matter what he says, is clueless and beholden to the leftist machine that ordained him. His roots are grounded in extreme philosophies taught by radical militants who thrive by pointing fingers. They’d rather blame, than solve.

The progressives (leftist) have taken over the Democratic Party, so much so, JFK wouldn’t recognize it. They like to label things like, “Big-Oil” or “Big-Tobacco.” Well there’s another “Big” and it’s called “Big-Environment.” This group wants high gas prices and they got guys like Scooter in their back pocket to see it through. Billons of dollars are riding on wind and solar power, look no further than Al Gore’s hedge fund and you’ll understand what “green” means to these people.

So it doesn’t surprise me that Scooter is against off shore drilling.

Gramps now is another story. He’s been called a maverick, most often at his party’s expense. He voted with the Democrats so much there was talk of him leaving the Republican Party. Conservatives wished Capt. Queeg (Gramps) would’ve left, but suddenly somehow, someway he’s the only one standing between Scooter and the Presidency.

I cringed when McCain talked in favor of Cap and Trade. Then I shook my head when he spoke against off shore drilling. These issues are fundamental to conservatives and Gramps was on the wrong side of each.

I don’t now what caused this about-face, but now we have something that distinguishes the two. Maybe there’s a chance for us all.
