All hate.... all the time

Okay, I’m about sick of the ugliness going on with this election. What ever happened to journalism? At one time, not that long ago, the rule was two sources needed to validate a story. Remember, “All the Presidents men?” Woodward and Bernstein spent countless hours checking facts, chasing leads and interviewing bit players in the Watergate scandal. Yes they had an agenda, take down Nixon, but they did it the right way.

Today, a laptop and a rumor, is shot worldwide without any ethical consequences. I’ve been to the hate filled blogs and it’s not a pretty sight. You want to disagree with McCain and Palin fine, healthy debate is always welcome. But there’s nothing being debated on the leftist blogs, it’s all hate all the time and I’d be willing to bet they don’t even know why they hate John McCain, they’re just bitter.

I understand politics has always been dirty, but there’s new era of viciousness and dirty tricks that would make Nixon blush. I believe this turn started during the Clinton years, when the President got his hand caught in the intern cookie jar and then blamed Ken Starr.

The enlightened left wing women, you know the ones who scream about men using their power to control and abuse women. Well, they fell in line, turned their heads and joined in on the attacks. Bill Clinton was bullet proof, blue dress and all.

Clinton’s minions went on a seek and destroy mission and it’s been downhill ever since. I thought we’d reached the bottom with George Bush. But the personal hatred toward Sarah Palin sinks to a new low.

The most disturbing thing is the so-called reputable news media runs with this manure like it’s a proven fact. Forget the two sources, forget the byline is anonymous, and forget it came from a hate filled website, after all, it’s on the internet, it must be true.

The news media is a willing participant with all the credibility of a partisan hack. The Fourth Estate is in shambles, there is no such thing as good journalism anymore. All we have are blurred lines between comment and information.

Be prepared, if John McCain happens to win, this thing is going to get nasty. It’ll make the Bush years look like a picnic in the park.
